Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, and even to those who don’t. It’s April, and our New Year’s resolutions are long gone and forgotten. Most of them were broken by the first week in January. By the end of the month, many of us had lost the piece of paper we wrote them on.
But that’s okay. Because the new year is an arbitrary time to make changes anyway. And the way we try to do it is hopelessly ineffective. buy generic levitra We online viagra pharmacy make a list of all of the things in our business and personal life that we want to stop or start doing. And then we try to implement them all on one day. And we do this the day after the holiday season is over, as we are just coming out of a time that has been hectic, if not stressful and emotional.
The amoxil online chances for success are minimal, at best. That’s why I’ve made a pre-New Year’s resolution not to make any New Year’s resolutions in 2009. The term “resolution” is really code language for “goals I know I won’t meet.” And no one expects you to keep your New Year’s resolutions. You get laughed at if you’re seriously trying to change. Especially if you resolve to quit your job and go full time with your online business.
There are many things I am seriously trying to change. So I can’t let those goals end up on my “resolutions” list, which in reality is a list of things I wish I had the discipline to turn into goals.
But what does any of this have to do with Easter? Well, for me, Easter has become a little like the new year was intended to be. I make it a point to look seriously at my goals and my progress towards achieving them. Why? Because Easter is a time for new beginnings.
As Easter is not a part of my religion, I used to just let it pass me by. I didn’t see any place for my involvement in this tradition of fancy dresses with matching hats, big family meals, and lots of extra church. But when I was enlightened to the fact of what Easter is, that all changed for me.
If you celebrate Easter as a new beginning for Jesus, why not also celebrate it as a time for a new beginning for you? I don’t advocate trying to change your life all at once. But why not pick a couple of stagnant goals you have for growing your online business and begin to pursue them with renewed passion? It can give Easter additional meaning for you, or provide your reason buy ampicillin to celebrate.
Another thing that the Easter celebration has taught me is that we can use any “excuse” to develop new goals. Changes in the seasons bring changes in the earth. The seasons can be our excuse to pursue our own changes. I’m especially fond of Spring, when I can use the new growth of flowers, grass, trees and vegetables as a metaphor for the growth of my online business and my personal growth.
But it doesn’t have to be even this big of a deal. My ultimate point is that any time is a good excuse to start (or re-start) dedicated work on a new goal of self-improvement or business-improvement.
I have a friend that struggles with her weight. I always encourage her not to give up if she had a bad eating day, because tomorrow is a new day. What better reason for a new beginning? Each tick of the clock is a new moment. While you may be discouraged about where your life is right now, or discouraged about where your work from home business isn’t right now, you have the power to change that instantly.
There are no excuses, and there is no reason to wait. That’s one of the many beauties of the freedom we have as people living in America. But now, you are no longer that person. You’re writing that copy today. See how easy that was?
